Over the Christmas break I had the chance to sit down and create my first custom bouquet and boutonniere for Megan and Jon, a Michigan bride and groom getting married on February 4, 2012! Megan and Jon opted for a small wedding with close friends and family in their small town, but still wanted to add a different element to their big day! Megan contacted me hoping to get a green bouquet but with a special touch – She was looking for roses made out of pages from a book! I immediately fell in love with this idea not only because it added a personal touch to make her bouquet HERS, but it also provided an amazing contrast to the beautiful greens that she picked to finish off her bouquet!
Megan also asked for some stitching on the petals of the hilary green flowers. Choosing to have stitching, but not having it on every flower made this bouquet very elegant and not “over-crafted”. A perfect choice for this wonderful bride-to-be!
Now we can’t end the story there – Megan also asked for a boutonniere for her lovely fiance! We took inspiration from her beautiful bouquet by adding a paper rose, and buttons! Leaves with stitching were tucked in behind to complete the overall look for the couple!!
Megan has already started looking for the perfect vase to display her flowers in after the wedding – because paper doesn’t die!!
The best part of this order was knowing that someone enjoys the work that I do and wanted to include me in one of biggest days in their lives. I will forever remember and cherish the words that Megan shared with me after receiving her flowers in the mail: “I can’t say enough amazing things about how wonderful the flowers are. Seriously, beautiful and great quality. I’m going to shout from the rooftops (well, Twitter and Facebook) about how great they are. Thank you SO MUCH”
It was such an honour working with Megan and Jon and I truly wish them all the best not only on February 4, but in the many years to come!
Congratulations Megan and Jon!!!
